The Mavic 729® disc rim is not only a competent racing, down hill and free ride rim, it is the standard. Extremely strong, this rim can withstand impacts that the human body hopefully won’t have to. The 729® rim’s wide profile (approx. 36.5mm wide x 21mm tall), combined with Mavic’s SUP® arc welded joint, Maxtal® alloy, and full double stainless steel eyelets, means this rim is ready for serious business.
Building a wheel set with one of the toughest bicycle rims available is pointless without a strong hub set at its center. That’s why we are offering this wheel set with DT Swiss Hugi FR 6-bolt disc hubs. These hubs are designed with a large hub shell body that is light weight, yet exceptionally strong and ideal for high torque transfer. The Hugi FR front hub is 110mm spaced and uses a 20mm thru-axle; the rear is 150mm spaced and uses a 12mm thru-axle. (Rear 135mm standard QR is available, please see item #60200).
Last but not least, this wheel set is built with DT Swiss black double butted Competition spokes and DT brass nipples. Thanks for looking!
