BWW Pure XCR® rims – Smooth and responsive

These rims were designed purely for cross country riding, but from early in our development program we were impressed at just how much these wheels could handle, and how smooth and light they felt. Combined with the facts that these rims are welded, have stainless steel eyelets, utilize a strong rim profile, and are built with 32 spokes laced three cross in the front and rear, you can ride these wheels with confidence.

BWW Pure XCR® hubs – Light weight, meticulously built for rock solid engagement

Bicycle Wheel Warehouse Pure XCR® cross country 6-bolt disc hubs are very light weight, yet still strong. This virtual contradiction in terms is achieved through the use of 7075 series aluminum for the hub shell and freehub body. The hub axle is made from stainless steel in order to withstand years of abuse. Additionally, Pure XCR® hubs are designed with large diameter hub flanges that are spaced as far apart as possible, we didn’t want to leave anything to chance.

Pure XCR® hubs use the highest quality cartridge sealed bearings from Japan, two for the front and four bearings for the rear hub. The rear freehub engages precisely via 6 independent pawls pressured by 6 separate stainless steel v-springs, to ensure a quick and positive engagement feel through all 30 points of engagement. Our attention to detail didn’t stop there. The spokes holes are precisely drilled, perfectly concentric and are chamfered to help support the spoke head and to facilitate wheel builds with excellent levels of consistent spoke tension.

All these components individually represent a level of exacting quality that is impressive. The inherent value of these wheel components is augmented during the assembly process by our expert wheel building perfectionists. Our meticulous attention to detail, years of wheel building experience, and experience working with these specific wheel components all culminate in our efforts to exactly true, tension, and dish these wheels.

Brief: MTB 26” disc specific premium wheel set

Rims: Bicycle Wheel Warehouse PureXCR® Disc welded rims, 24mm wide, single stainless eyelets for nipple support, disc specific/not v-brake compatible.

Black anodized rims weigh approximately 398g, powder coated colors weight approx. 408g.

Nipples: DT Swiss alloy nipples, please select color. The brass nipple option adds approx. 20g per wheel.

 **Marwi Titanium blue anodized spokes are now available with these wheels.  On average, these spokes weigh approximately 238g per 64 pieces.  Light weight DT Competition spokes of the same length weigh approximately 388g per 64 pieces.  The blue ano finish is best descibed as "Cornflower blue," a metallic blue finish with subtle purple and gray hues, depending on the light.
