Bicycle Wheel Warehouse Blackset Race Ten

The Blackset Race® rim is undeniably, irrefutably, positively light weight, averaging a feathery 395g each.  A close inspection of this rim will highlight the attractive aero profile, both angular and curvaceous as the sidewall approaches the rim’s apex.  This purposeful use of shape is engineered to create an extra thick triangular section of aluminum to support each nipple, and allows for high levels of consistent spoke tension.  In short, these wheels feel exceptionally light, inspire confidence from their stiffness in deep turns and while pedaling out of the saddle, and are simply phenomenal.

These rims are approximately 24mm tall by 19.5mm wide and make use of a maturely pronounced bead hook design facilitating the use of a wide range of tires.  The BWW Race rims use welded seams and boast CNC machined sidewalls, for superior braking performance.

We’re offering to build these wheels from the below selection of hubs, spokes and nipples.  DT Swiss Revolution® spokes with DT Alloy nipples, in addition to being light weight, offer the added advantage of vibration dampening and contribute to an overall sense of smoothness.  Sapim CX-Ray® spokes include these characteristics, but also offer a distinct aerodynamic advantage.

Please select your preference for a front radial or three cross lacing pattern. 

Technically speaking, radial front wheels accelerate faster, but are less stiff laterally, the typical weight savings is a mere 5g total, but varies slightly based upon your spoke selection.  We generally recommend a three cross pattern for the front wheel, due to its inherent strength suitable for everyday riding.  The front wheel will include 24, 28 or 32 spokes, based on your hub selection.  The rear wheel uses either 28 or 32 spokes depending on your hub selection, and is laced three cross.
